Biography

Hanna received her MSW degree from the University of Calgary in 2015. She is a registered social worker in the provinces of Alberta, Ontario, and British Columbia. Hanna has been working in various mental health settings including urgent care, residential addiction treatment centre, immigrant serving agency, and return to work programs. She has completed JDRF’s Mental Health and Diabetes Training Program and is committed to providing compassionate, non-judgmental, and evidenced based care.

Hanna’s experience includes working with adults (18+) who struggle with chronic illness, addictions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, disordered eating, high stress, grief, anger management, and relationship issues. While she has diverse practice, Hanna is especially interested in treatment of OCD and anxiety-related disorders. She is passionate about helping survivors of family violence, childhood abuse, war and displacement, sexual assault, and other traumatic events.

Hanna believes people are their own best experts and already have many skills, abilities, and competencies that will help them to deal with the challenges. Hanna primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, while integrating aspects of other evidenced based therapies (Exposure and Response Prevention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Habit Reversal Training, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR) when appropriate. In addition to English, Hanna provides therapy in Ukrainian and Russian languages.
